FICOBA: EVENTS & SERVICES

Throughout the industrial age the use of energy sources based on oil and coal has led to an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and a speeding-up of the greenhouse effect, resulting in global warming and, as evidence suggests, climate change.

Since May 2007, the FICOBA Foundation has been working hard to reduce its environmental impact by cutting its carbon dioxide emissions:

• 1ª Firstly, by implementing efficiency and energy-saving measures
• 2º Secondly, by offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions it generates during the course of its activities. With this in mind, the Exhibition Centre has signed an agreement with the association EKOPASS for the calculation and subsequent offsetting of its CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
• 3º Thirdly, by encouraging all event organisers to support this initiative. In a bid to highlight the efforts we are making in combating the emission of greenhouse gases, we have designed a seal/logotype to recognise events that, with the support of EKOPASS, are entirely CO2 free.
